Red is the color of power. Red is the color of passion. Red is the color of love. Finally, red is the color of my new wallet. Found it a few weeks ago in a random London store and decided straightaway that I want it. It perfectly goes with my semi-transparent CANDY BAG. And complements my collection of red colored stuff. Can't remember if I ever mentioned that red is one of my favourite colors? It does bring some strength and energy in it.
P.S. I, actually, heard a lot of Feng Shui myths (correct me if I'm wrong) that red wallets attract wealth. Do you believe that?

This is how the last working day of the previous week looked like. Casual and with supremacy of blue colors. Orange candy bowler bag did stand out so good against the darker tones of the outfit. By the way, the curls from the previous day/look were still looking really nice. Important to mention that previously all my curled hairstyles used to fall apart after several hours...

Getting a bit obsessed with this plaid shirt recently. And can't get enough of these biker boots either. And I still like like like jeans with snake skin print. All the mentioned pieces are my favourites at the moment. By chance, it all came together to create this look. Basic white t-shirt and cross body bag, accompanied by chained necklace, perfectly complemented it. So casual yet classy. And curls were made with the help of my new super cool COSMOPOLITAN set! The curling wand really does its job in just few seconds.

Created this outfit around the combination of shorts and vest. Some of you will understand, how, sometimes, outfits are built around one or several pieces and only then, so called, lacking components are added. So, as I already mentioned, this look was made exactly this way. As a result, I paired the vest with striped jumper, colors of which are absolutely identical to vest ones. And faux leather shorts, in turn, worked well with biker boots. I decided to finish the look with braid hairstyle. As my hair grow, braids  are getting better and better each time.

This color block combination really made me feel like a smoothie cocktail. It's like, you know, some berries and fruits came together to color this look. And it's not that bright, so just perfect for gloomy London-ish winter. Well, a natural hair flow and nude look make-up... and voila a fresh smoothie mix is finished!

Well, well, well... It was a bit tough week as I was working almost non-stop on my final dissertation. Never thought that my project could be based on Latvian fashion, but that's exactly what makes it interesting and special. And I found a couple of Latvian designers that I can tell you about, so some time in the future I'll write about them. But lets get back to the last look-post of this week...
An absolutely classical combination of plaid shirt and denim jeans. So casually simple yet cool. And  biker boots make the outfit look so "modern grunge". Some more modernity is added by the candy bag, its color and material. The look is finished by just a couple of handmade bracelets.

Playing with some contrasting textures. Love how fluffy sweater and faux leather skirt complement each other. And the rubber semi-transparent bowler-bag adds some twist to the leather-ish outfit. Really modern and youth. And how can I get by without my beloved red coat? Seriously, it's so mine. Have been checking out this season's coats for the last couple of months and they just don't fit me...

Black color kinda mood spotted. Love how two different prints work together in this outfit. So chic, but still classy. And biker boots perfectly complement it by adding some rock-ishness. But the main accent of the whole look is spotted from far-far away. Yes, it's the candy colored bowler bag. It speaks for itself. To finish the look off I chose straight hair and natural-look make-up.

So, here it is. My new love - Furla Candy Bag. Had my eye on it ever since it was introduced in around 2010. It's so different from most of the bags that are out there in the market. Like a real candy, it's made in such juicy colors - red, blue, pink, yellow, orange, etc. It even goes in black, white and beige colors. The only thing that stopped me from getting it was it's transparency. As it's made of rubber, the content of the bag can be seen by everyone. But well. It's a new year and a new start. And you know what, I don't regret having this beauty now. Love everything about it - the color, the design, the semi-transparency...

The last look from Riga... Spent amazing 3,5 weeks back home. Unfortunately, there was no snow for me this time. But city looked gorgeous even without snow. With all the lights and Christmas decorations it seemed like a fairytale. But each fairytale comes to an end and I'm back to big city life.
On my last day at home I was in the mood for something casual, but still bright. Well, you might say that my coat is bright, so what else do I need? But I felt like adding something to it. So I went for this striped jumper. And a pair of casual skinnies. The croc effect bag worked really well with all my recent Riga looks and is kinda having its own holiday. I, in turn, am enjoying another one (super new one) and will show it to you in a couple of days.

Adding some sparkle to one of my last week's looks. Quite an unusual mix of casual sweater and festively-classy skater skirt. These two have something in common, though. I bet you already guessed what it is. It's the shine that is created by sequined finishing of the sweater and metallic shine texture of the skirt. Some accessories and always-there-stuff, i.e. knee high boots and croc effect bag, complemented the outfit. While the whole look was finished by ponytail hairstyle and natural-look make-up.

Creating a piece of mystery in my look with this large Fedora hat. Since I'm experimenting with different types of hats from time to time and this one is a gift, I thought that it would perfectly finish this look. And it, actually, did. Little black dress (supported by same black color tights and boots), fur vest that is slightly peeking out under the super bright coat - it all together created such an elegant and chic outfit. Even the charming atmosphere of the Old Town's narrow streets seems to have taken its part in this story...

Time to finish off with last Riga looks. So, this one is from the very beginning of the month. After all the celebrations I was craving for some beige-ish colors. And I just found this pair of shorts and a striped top (totally forgot about its existence). Well, together it made a nice combination. I did pair the outfit with the pom beanie and red coat. The final touch was given by absolutely natural (no make-up) look. I'm even trying to escape putting mascara or blusher now. Just keeping it as natural as possible.

Took a couple of days off from blogging, but am back now. This week was pretty busy as I had to pass my driving test that I, actually, did from the first try (a really good start of 2014) and then it was all about packing for London. Well, though I was a few days late and missed lectures at university, I had a chance to spend my Christmas with family. As I am Orthodox and members of my family are either Orthodox or Old Believers, our Christmas is on January 7th.
Talking about my special Christmas look... Here I decided to play with prints and, as you see, it's paisley, floral and animal ones. And the prints did look absolutely fabulous together. Should I add that I'm totally in love with this pencil skirt? Totally adore that it's not a simple pencil skirt, but has floral pattern on it, it does add some coolness. In terms of color, the outfit was based on a combination of black and white, as well as some red accents... I just realized that I do add red color to, at least, most of my monochrome looks.  I guess, it happens unconsciously. Anyway, I did finish the look off by adding some accessories and simple hairstyle of low ponytail.

First look of the year 2014. New Year's Eve look doesn't count. So the first day of a new year look like this. Elegant, classy and festively. Just a perfect choice to continue the celebration of NYE at grandmother's place. The main outfit is black and white and here I like how fluffy sweater works with sequined skirt. Of course I did pair the outfit with the red coat. But my beloved Russian scarf added some twist to the total combination, so it doesn't look plain. I finished the look off with the curls that remained from NYE and put accent on lips with red lipstick.

Still dealing with NYE theme... And here's, finally, my look for New Year's Eve. As you know, according to Chinese Zodiac, 2014 will be the year of a blue wooden horse. So I decided to choose a dress of the corresponding color. And as soon as I saw this dress, I realized that it's the one. Teal color, jacquard fabric and the style ala retro - it all works perfectly in one dress. I paired the dress with ankle booties in animal print and a set of accessories. I finished the look off with light make-up, putting emphasis on eyes by using matching (blue) color eye shadows, and curled hairstyle.

New Year... New start... Hope all of you had an amazing night. First of January, or better call it post-New Year's Eve day, is the laziest day of the year. I guess, most of you will agree that today we all just want to stay in bed much longer and spend the whole day in pajamas. So do I. I'm having a lazy-day today. Well, almost.
