Fashion mammas are coming foreground. It's fashionable to be mama!

Dolce & Gabbana Autumn/Winter 2015 runway show made it clear - being mama is pretty kind of a new hot fashion trend. Joking. It's not a fashion trend. It's just a huge statement that the world of fashion and motherhood are not aliens to each other. Three models escorted by their cute babies and Bianca Balti showing off her baby bump simply rocked Milan Fashion Week and made the runway show of Dolce & Gabbana one of the most talked about.
And, you know, it is really cool to see designers responding to such a social topic. Why am I saying responding rather than outlook? Because to some extent it is a respond. People sometimes blame fashion industry to be full of lonely, self-centered and fake people. Especially, when it comes to women. I'm not gonna lie, even I thought so at some point prior moving to one of fashion capitals to study Fashion Business in one of Top 10 Fashion Universities in the world. Even while at university I came across several tutors that were involved in fashion industry at one point or another (some of our university lecturers were not fashion industry professionals), the female ones, who neither had a family, nor had kids. One of them even expressed an idea that you don't need kids simply because they will stop you from enjoying life in full and build own career. To hear something like that was kind of a shock. I mean it's not like no one expected to hear such stuff. It was just the way it all was expressed.
It was some five years ago that the rise of fashion mammas and baby bumps in street style and front rows came in. One of such women was Mira Duma, who brought baby bump fashion forefront. Parallel to bringing up her son, she was building an international career of her own. Past Autumn she was spotted bringing baby bump front row once again, while being pregnant with her second child. It also was the baby thing among Victoria's Secret star-Angels - Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr - that made us realise that being a mother is not the end of your career as a model. After giving birth to two and even four kids each of them happened and still happen to show perfect VS Angels bodies. And now it's Bianca Balti, who brought the baby bump thing right to the runway.
While preparing this Industy Insight I couldn't escape but putting together the 5 biggest fashion mammas of today. Mammas who proved that becoming a fashion influencer and raise children is as so totally natural.

Rachel Zoe

Rachel is a multi-professional in the fashion world. Stylist for many American stars and brands, designer of own fashion label, writer and editor she happened to focus on her building a career of fashion influencer prior becoming a mother of two little kids. Rachel is a good example of what we call 'it's never too late to be mama', even after the age of 30.

Miroslava Duma

Miroslava is a little woman of a big fashion industry. She went all the way from columnist for such magazines as Harper's Bazaar and OK! to the founder of own Internet project Buro 24/7. Additionally, she happened to be the digital director of TSUM and runs own charity foundation Peace Planet. Plus Mira is widely known as a real style icon. Her ability style baby bumps is beyond words!

Elena Perminova

Elena Perminova is one of the biggest Russian IT-girls . A street style icon. A model. And is now a mother of three kids. Her Instagram is full with family photos. Moreover, while being pregnant with her second child she didn't fear of having a photoshoot for POP magazine and show off some baby bump.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum is one of the best examples that you can be model and mamma at the same time. Victoria's Secret Angel is the mother of four kids! Perfect body and a bunch of kid-ows sounds mode of a dream. But it's not. Heidi proved it.

Victoria Beckham

Here comes our favorite fashion mama. Victoria Beckham is a real trend setter, founder and designer of own fashion label, member of a legendary pop group in the past and wife of one of the hottest men in the world. But most importantly she is mother of four beautiful kids. The youngest one and only daughter, Harper Seven, seems to follow mamma's footsteps. She already can be seen sitting front row on parent's laps.
