"Back to the future" is the main motto of the Spring/Summer 2015 season.

As they say, new is a well forgotten old stuff. It's not a piece of news that designers of today do find inspirations in those long gone decades of the past. The decades that marked as one's childhood years or other's so to say turning from-girl-to-lady period.
This season in terms of fashion, and not only, we are looking back at the interesting decade of the 1970's. Many, many hot pieces of the season represent the good old 70'ies decade. The flares, the country style, the bombastic rise of the disco that resulted in love towards sequins and everything popping shiny and the influence of hippies that still could be sensed.
I can't say for sure if there's any other TV series that could picture the 1970's period the way the 'That '70s Show' did. It didn't only serve as a source of entertainment and education in terms of decade's style, fashion and lifestyle, it made me realize that if it was only about fashion the '70s would definitely be the second decennary I would love to live through. So in case you are about to jump on 'those '70s style trend' train, then give a try to that American TV show that will teach you how proper 1970's youngsters have to dress, act and... and simply live.
Meanwhile, we are about to take off to our virtual tour around the coolest 1970's inspired ideas. Not all, but the ones that should definitely be found in your SS15 wardrobe. Off we go!

Flares

Flares

The hybrids of skinnies and wide-legs combination. Never really thought of flares this way, didn't you? Flares, basically, are the best option if you want to achieve that retro 70's look. And it doesn't necessarily need to be denim, get it in other fabric and style supported by old cheeky print. Make a shift from your beloved skinnies!

Fringe

Fringe

So far we have already covered the fringe trend in more depth. Get another glimpse of that Trend Report right HERE. Though not every single type of fringe suits the 1970's decade. The 1920's flapper girl inspired fringe has barely nothing to do with '70s. The best options are the ones that come in suede or are supported by interesting prints.

Suede

Suede

The suede trend has also been covered in one of our very first Trend Reports. Read it once again HERE. Comparing to fringe suede does not restrict you. This season's suede goes pretty retro-ish, aka 1970's inspired, straightaway. So suede yourself up!

Florals

Florals

Floral print is always a good idea. Statement florals are even a better idea when it comes to 1970's revival. Vote for the 'flower power' party and dig your wardrobe for some long forgotten floral-full pieces. The sun is out and our flowers are about to bloom!

Country

Country

Country girls are back on the horse. Cowboy style boots, lace, florals, plaid, denim, suede, straw hats, ideally also in cowboy style, off shoulder shirts and dresses in white or in floral prints, a bit of folk motifs in embroidery or prints. Keep mixing and matching your seasonal wardrobe essentials for such a laid back country girl look.

Disco

Disco

As the good old Abba used to sing: "Friday night and the lights are low, looking out for a place to go where they play the right music, getting in the swing...". Those four from Abba knew everything about the Dancing Queen. If you are in the mood for dance in 1970's style, then get yourself something shiny or popping bright, an interesting jumpsuit would also be a great idea. A very glamorous idea I would say. And don't forget about shoes, it should complement the impression. Old school roller-skates anyone?
