"Fashions fade, Style is eternal" - Yves Saint Laurent
Today on Practical Queen AP we, together with e-retail giant Farfetch, are celebrating the talent, the vision and the genius of fashion's legend Yves Saint Laurent. The person who undertook several fashion revolutions and taught us timeless lessons on style.
About a month ago The Bowes Museum opened its doors to 'Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal' exhibition which came as a result of museum's collaboration with the Fondation Pierre Berge - Yves Saint Laurent. The display takes the visitors around French designers work and life, master's vision on womenswear and influence on the world of fashion. Yves Saint Laurent believed that it is style that matters the most and lasts forever, that's why Farfetch being one of the biggest digital retailers representing Saint Laurent label decided to undertake a competition, or put it simply a digital event, dedicated to the genius of the French designer.
Farfetch's 'Style is Eternal' is all about the 'Iconic' smoking jacket and timeless classics. A total look by Saint Laurent that you can pull season after season after season. My version of a timeless Saint Laurent ensemble is based on essential pieces of female's wardrobe. Formal pieces like jacket, trousers, shirt, court shoes and irreplacable crossbody bag, in first place. Secondly, it's based on three colors that will never ever get old - white, black and red. And, finally, the details like lipstick and, let's say, a little golden ring. As simple as that.
